Growing up in a small southern town with a single mom, I longed for the world beyond. I still do, even though I'm raising my own three kids on my own today. As a filmmaker, ghostwriter, and college professor, I get to explore the rich experiences of disparate people, and I love it.

My work is always based on real life, mine or someone else’s, in some form or another. As an artist, I feel most satisfied when I am more conduit than creator.

Whether the endpoint of a narrative is the pages of a book or the flicker of a screen, my goal is to connect people to themselves and to others through story.
